Metadata

It is our belief that good Digital Humanities work is work that happens in public. For that reason, we offer our most recent metadata schema here. The schema adheres to the Dublin Core standard, though we consider our schema to be a living document which means that changes can and likely will be made to this document as the project grows and evolves to suit the needs of our users.

Collection Practices

In the current iteration of the project, images in the archive have been reproduced from the private collection of our project founder. These texts were primarily purchased from antique stores and online marketplaces such as Etsy. Each text has been carefully evaluated to ensure that it was printed in the nineteenth-century, though due to the source of these texts outside of institutional collections, much of the context for these items is not readily available.
